2011 Light The Night Walk

When: Saturday, October 22, 2011

Where: Campbell’s Field: Home of Riversharks

Aimee and Rachel Rouff will be participating in Light The Night Walk, in memory of their mom, Kristianna Rouff, remembering her as the true inspiration that she is! Family and friends will be joining them. Everyone can make a difference! Pleas join us!

Kris Rouff, born Kristianna Keen Harvey, arrived in this world in a real rush on March 30, 1963. Although scrawny at first, within a short time she developed into a sturdy, funny little girl with bright eyes and a determined disposition. Whatever Kris set her mind on, she did with a sense of style and grit!

Kris was a graduate of the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, St. Lawrence University with a degree in economics. While in her first job she enrolled for her MBA at Villanova University. She sat for and passed on first attempt, three levels of CFA accreditation (Charter Financial Analyst) including being one of the first twenty worldwide to pass the International CFA. At the time of her death she was a Vice President of the Glenmede Trust.

Kris met and married Dr. Michael Rouff in August 1997. She and Michael had two daughters, Aimee Keen and Rachel Beth.
Looking back one can see that Kris’ cancer(s) developed long before they were obvious. In 2002, following Rachel’s birth, she just did not seem to recover. When Rachel was 5 months old, she was dianosed as having non-Hodgkins Lymphoma; her spleen was removed and the hope was that she would be ‘fine’.

Kris’ battle to live was a crusade; she fought to live for Michael and the girls. And fight she did-for seven long years. But her immune system was so compromised; her cells mutated into Leukemia and finally into an aggressive form of Lymphona. Kris lost her heroic fight on April18, 2009. Her death has been a loss for everyone who knew her.

Light The Night Walk is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s evening walk and fundraising event to pay tribute and bring hope to thousands of people battling cancer and to commemorate loved ones lost. Hundreds of thousands of participants raise funds for lifesaving research and patient services.
